How it starts:
As a commercial for a mother brand with multiple products, the goal wasn’t to promote any single item, but to show how the brand connects emotionally with its audience. The idea centered on reunions after the long separations of the pandemic — moments of joy shared between long-distance partners, families, and friends.
The process:
While writing the script, I initially envisioned many forms of joy but narrowed it down to three core scenarios that best represented people’s real experiences after 2021. On set, we had a crew of about 20. As the producer and assistant director, I managed logistics, ensured the crew was supported, coordinated with the location team, and oversaw file handovers.
Because the project involved both VFX and real-screen footage, I planned the timing of live shots carefully to minimize post-production workload — a decision that saved considerable time later. It was a packed three-day shoot, but everything ran smoothly. In post, I took on editing and coordinated with a motion graphics designer to finalize the text animations based on stakeholder feedback.
The result:
The final video exceeded expectations — performance metrics and view counts were strong, and even though conversion wasn’t the primary goal, the campaign achieved impressive engagement and positive brand sentiment.
