How it starts:
The Pro Editors React To series was a new format created for the YouTube channel during a period when most production resources were focused on short-form social content for the Filmora brand. To maintain a steady long-form upload rhythm without adding heavy production demands, I proposed a reaction-based series built around short clips we already had. The format allowed us to create engaging content efficiently, while avoiding the need for traditional scripting.

The process:
Because the series relied on unscripted reactions, strong planning became essential. I shaped the format by selecting the right clips and designing follow-up questions that could naturally bring out interesting and authentic responses from the on-camera talents. It required both editorial judgment and directing instinct to anticipate where the most engaging moments might come from.

One of the main challenges was editing non-scripted content, which was still a newer skill for some team members at the time. I saw it as an opportunity to build that capability within the team, especially since it could also support future unscripted formats like podcasts. I edited the first episode as a style reference, which then became the foundation for the rest of the series.

The result:
The series helped the channel maintain consistent long-form output during a period of limited resources, while still delivering content that felt fresh and audience-friendly. It also became a useful internal benchmark. The team gained more confidence in handling unscripted formats, and I gained a clearer understanding of each editor’s strengths and creative instincts.
