How it starts:
The Pro Editors React To series was another new exploration for the YouTube channel. The idea came from a project primarily focused on short-form social media videos for the Filmora brand. Since most of the resources were allocated to short-form production, we needed a creative way to maintain consistent long-form uploads on YouTube. I proposed the concept of a reaction-style series — something engaging and efficient that could be produced using the short clips we already had, eliminating the need for scripting.

The process:
Because the series skipped traditional scripting, the planning stage became crucial. I designed the structure around selecting which videos to feature and crafting the right follow-up questions to encourage authentic reactions from on-camera talents. It required a blend of editing insight and directing instincts to anticipate how each moment might unfold.

One of the main challenges was editing non-scripted content — a skill not every team member had at the time. I suggested giving it a try, since mastering this format could also strengthen our approach to other unscripted projects, such as podcasts. I created the editing example for the first episode, which became the reference style for the rest of the team to follow.

The result:
The series allowed us to sustain regular video output during a resource-limited period, while still delivering fresh and engaging content. It also helped the team grow — editors gained experience in handling non-scripted formats, and I gained a deeper understanding of each member’s strengths and creative approach.
